Story

SONOS is a company that offers premium sound solutions through wireless and interconnected means. They are known for their innovative products, pushing conventional speaker systems' boundaries; SONOS products are designed to provide high-quality sound and can be easily integrated into a home entertainment system. The company has a strong presence in the United States and The Netherlands, and tech-savvy consumers highly regard its products.

Challenge

Creating an impactful booth at a busy and overstimulating event can be challenging, especially when showcasing acoustical products.

We need to create a booth out of easily accessible materials that can be transported long distances and withstand damage by an unskilled crew.

Also, we need to provide insightful demos of new products that are both meaningful and memorable to patrons and future clients.

Solution

To solve these problems, we mapped out site geometries of the adjacent booth and established more prominent ‘site lines’ within the expo itself. This allowed for well-framed views for far-away patrons. We created simple backdrops with explicit branding materials, and designed most elements to be less than 8’ long for more accessible transport; the panels were essentially flat packed and assembled with simple joinery on site.

During the expo, we provided engaging and insightful demos of their products by designing the booth to be sleek and modern, highlighting their unique features and capabilities.

We also created ‘experience areas’ that mimicked real-world settings. For example, outside trellis and seating areas showcased outdoor speakers, while the tv and movie areas showcased the setup of SONOS products, as well as their support areas needed.

We also create a "house in the house." By making a soundproofed structure, we could showcase the full range of SONOS sound in an environment controlled and specific to a home while also functioning as a critical branding and wayfinding element within the convention hall itself.

The booth quickly became a popular destination for attendees, creating a meaningful and memorable experience, and SONOS received positive feedback from patrons and future clients.
